Recap: Nevada vs. Fresno State

Reno, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Johnson scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the double-double as the Fresno State Bulldogs downed the Nevada Wolf Pack, 75-67, in a Mountain West Conference showdown at Lawlor Events Center.

Marvelle Harris also notched a double-double for Fresno State (12-13, 5-7 MW), netting 13 points and pulling down 10 boards. Paul Watson contributed 15 points, and Cezar Guerrero tallied 12. The win was the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs.

Jerry Evans Jr. and Deonte Burton each netted 14 points for Nevada (12-13, 7-5), while Burton added six rebounds and four assists to his stat line. Michael Perez chipped in 11 points, and Cole Huff added 10. A.J. West pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds in the loss, which was the third in a row for the Wolf Pack.

Neither team came out hot in the first half. Fresno State connected on 31 percent of its shots from the field, including 5-of-16 from 3-point range, and hit 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. Nevada shot 35.7 percent in the frame, going 3-of-8 from 3-point distance. The teams went into the intermission knotted at 32-32.

Both teams did pick it up in the second period, though. The Bulldogs shot an even 50 percent from the floor, and hit 13-of-16 from the charity stripe. The Wolf Pack connected on 52.2 percent of their shots, including 4-of-10 from deep. But Fresno State outscored Nevada in the frame, 43-35, for the victory.

Fresno State had the edge in second chance points, 14-6, and from the free- throw line, 22-16. Nevada won the battle in points in the paint, 26-22.
