Weber State (2-4) at UCLA (9-2)

GAME NOTES: The UCLA Bruins will try to bounce back from a loss, as they welcome the Weber State Wildcats to Pauley Pavilion for a non-conference clash on Sunday.

Weber State arrives in the City of Angels with a 2-4 record thanks to their 107-36 rout of NCCAA foe St. Katherine College last Tuesday. The Wildcats are still winless on the road, having lost to BYU (81-72), Colorado State (88-67) and Utah Valley (62-59) in their three true away games. After the offensive outburst against St. Katherine College, Weber State is averaging 74.7 points per game on 46.2 percent efficiency from the floor. Coach Randy Rahe's team will return to Odgen to host Northern New Mexico next Saturday, which will be its final tilt before opening Big Sky Conference play.

In their last outing, Steve Alford's Bruins held their own early on against Duke in a marquee matchup at Madison Square Garden, and went into halftime tied with the ACC powerhouse. However, the Blue Devils took control after the break and coasted to an 80-63 victory. The loss was the team's second in three outings since its perfect 7-0 start. UCLA, which has won each of its last 10 home games dating back to last season, is ranked 12th nationally in points per game (86.7), fifth in assists per game (18.3) and second in field goal percentage (.529).

This bout marks just the third meeting between Weber State and UCLA. Both previous encounters took place in the NCAA Tournament and the Bruins each time. The series has been idle since 1972.

Weber State has a solid leader in Davion Berry, who was the Big Sky Newcomer of the Year a season ago. The senior guard is fourth among the league's players in scoring with an average of 18.7 points per game, and he is also leading the Wildcats in assists, steals, 3-point field goals and free-throw percentage. Freshman guard Jeremy Senglin and senior center Kyle Tresnak contribute 12.7 and 11.5 ppg, respectively. Senglin is coming off a career- best 23-point outing. Joel Bolomboy is also a valuable role player as he adds averages of 8.8 points and nine rebounds per outing.

UCLA could not keep up with Duke despite a stellar performance by sophomore guard Kyle Anderson, who tallied 15 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and five steals in the setback. Senior forward David Wear finished with a team- high 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor, while sophomore guard Jordan Adams chipped in 10 points. Adams has been unstoppable throughout the campaign, as he is tied for fourth in the Pac-12 in scoring at 20.2 ppg to go along with a league-best 3.4 steals per game. Anderson's versatility has been evident on a consistent basis as he is posting 13.9 points, 8.8 boards and 6.7 helpers per outing. Anderson's once suspect jump shot has been drastically improved and he is connecting on 55.6 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc. Zach LaVine (13.2 ppg) and Norman Powell (11.4 ppg) are both carrying double-digit scoring averages.

UCLA's recent losses to Missouri and Duke should have it motivated to get back on track against the Wildcats. Weber State will need a huge performance out of Berry to keep up due to its noticeable disadvantage on the interior.

GAME NOTES: The UCLA Bruins will try to bounce back from a loss, as they welcome the Weber State Wildcats to Pauley Pavilion for a non-conference clash on Sunday.
