Recap: Washington St vs. Stanford

Pullman, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony Brown netted 30 points and connected on 10-of-11 from the free-throw line as the Stanford Cardinals coasted past the Washington State Cougars, 69-56, in a Pac-12 Conference showdown at Beasley Coliseum.

Chasson Randle chipped in 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting for Stanford (16-8, 7-5 Pac-12). Josh Huestis grabbed a team-high 11 boards in the win, which was the third in four games for the Cardinals.

Que Johnson tallied 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds to pace Washington State (9-16, 2-10). DaVonte Lacy contributed 13 points, and D.J. Shelton added 11 for the Cougars, who have lost four straight contests.

Stanford connected on 63.2 percent of its field goal tries in the first half, including 6-of-7 from 3-point distance, and took a 39-24 lead into the intermission. Washington State shot a dismal 31.8 percent from the floor in the frame, which included 5-of-9 from 3-point range.

The Cardinals suffered a steep decline in shooting accuracy in the second half, netting 27.3 percent from the field, which included 0-of-9 from deep. Stanford did hit 18-of-21 from the free-throw line in the period, though. The Cougars improved to 31 percent shooting, but couldn't come close to erasing the 15-point halftime deficit.

Stanford held the edge in points in the paint, 20-12, and from the free-throw line, 27-15. Washington State won the battle in bench points, 14-7.
