Recap: Yale vs. Dartmouth

New Haven, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Mitola poured in 29 points as the Dartmouth Big Green ended the regular season with a 69-61 victory over the Yale Bulldogs in Ivy League action at the John J. Lee Amphitheater.

Brandon McDonnell added 11 points and John Golden chipped in 10 for Dartmouth (12-16, 5-9 Ivy League), which ended the season on a three-game winning streak.

Justin Sears finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds for Yale (15-13, 9-5), which lost four of its last five. Javier Duren tacked on 12 points.

It was Yale that led 33-31 at halftime. The Bulldogs only had nine field goals in the opening half, but they sank 12-of-17 at the free-throw line to grab the edge over Dartmouth, which shot 40.7 percent in the first period.

Mitola went 6-of-7 from the floor and tallied 17 points in the second half, as the Big Green pushed past the Bulldogs by shooting 50 percent, including a 5- of-11 effort from 3-point range. Yale fell off the pace, totaling only eight field goals and missing all eight shots from beyond the arc in the frame.

Yale lost despite a 38-24 edge on the boards. Dartmouth outscored the Bulldogs off of turnovers (21-12).
