Recap: Cornell vs. Harvard

Ithaca, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandyn Curry scored 14 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Harvard Crimson picked up a 67-44 win over the Cornell Big Red in an Ivy League bout at Newman Arena.

Laurent Rivard tallied 12 points, shooting 4-of-6 behind the 3-point line, followed by Wesley Saunders and Steve Moundou-Missi with 11 and 10 points, respectively, as the Crimson (20-4, 7-1 Ivy) remained in a tie with Yale for first place in the standings.

The Big Red (2-20, 1-7) were paced by Nolan Cressler who tallied a game-high 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting beyond the arc, but he was the only player in double figures for a squad that returned to the loss column just hours after snapping a six-game slide.

Harvard connected on a sizzling 64.0 percent from the field in the first half, including 5-of-11 behind the 3-point line, yet converted just 1-of-4 at the free-throw line as it moved out to a 38-24 advantage at the break. The Big Red were limited to just nine field goals through the first 20 minutes.

Cornell dropped to just eight field goals following intermission, while the visitors again shot the ball well from the field at a 55.0 percent clip, as they cruised to the comfortable win.

Not only did Cornell score just three points at the free-throw line, the team almost had as many turnovers (16) as field goals in the meeting.
