Recap: Brown vs. Penn

Providence, RI (SportsNetwork.com) - Cedric Kuakumensah registered a double- double with 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Brown Bears to a 62-55 win over the Penn Quakers in an Ivy League showdown at the Pizzitola Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Bears (12-9, 4-3 Ivy) were Sean McGonagill and Steven Spieth with 15 and 12 points, respectively, as the team won for the second time in the last three outings.

The Quakers (6-14, 3-3) were paced by Darien Nelson-Henry who dropped in 20 points, cleared seven rebounds and blocked five shots in their second straight setback.

The visitors knocked down half of their field goal attempts in the first half, but missed all five chances behind the 3-point line and made it to the charity stripe only once. Brown converted a total of nine field goals through the first 20 minutes, yet trailed by just two at the break, 29-27.

In the second half Penn still struggled on the perimeter (1-of-8) and barely made a dent at the free-throw line (5-of-9), as the Bears came back to capture the win.

In addition to being outscored at the free-throw line, 15-6, the Quakers also hurt themselves with a staggering 22 turnovers.
