Recap: Dartmouth vs. Brown

Hanover, NH (SportsNetwork.com) - Steven Spieth and Sean McGonagill both scored 20 points as the Brown Bears defeated the Dartmouth Big Green, 75-62, in Ivy League play at Leede Arena.

Also playing well for the Bears (12-8, 4-2 Ivy), as they won for the fourth time in the last five outings, was Rafael Maia who registered a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds before fouling out.

Losers of two straight, the Big Green (9-11, 2-4) were led by John Golden with his 17 points, followed by Alex Mitola and Tyler Melville with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Brown scored the first points of the night and never looked back, shooting 45.2 percent from the field in the first half in order to claim a 42-33 advantage at the break. Dartmouth knocked down only 33.3 percent from the floor in the period.

The Bears dropped to a mere 29.2 percent accuracy from the floor in the second half, but compensated with 17-of-23 shooting at the free-throw line in order to stay ahead.

The Big Green was held to only 28.6 percent shooting on the perimeter and were outscored at the charity stripe, 27-16.
