Recap: Oklahoma vs. Tulsa

Norman, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Woodard tallied a career-high 24 points and the Oklahoma Sooners topped the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 101-91, at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Woodard sank 17-of-22 at the free-throw line for the Sooners (9-1) and helped with eight assists. Buddy Hield followed with 23 points on 8-of-15 from the field. Isaiah Cousins and Cameron Clark each scored 15 points and Tyler Neal added another 12 and eight boards in just 17 minutes off the bench.

James Woodard, the brother of OU's Jordan, led the Golden Hurricane (3-7) with 19 points on 6-of-16 from the floor. Shaquille Harrison (17 points), Pat Swilling (17) and D'Andre Wright (10) also scored in double figures as the team had a two-game win streak snapped.

The teams were evenly matched in the first half, with Tulsa shooting a slightly better 40.6 percent from the field to the Oklahoma's 39.3 percent mark. The Sooners, however, converted 14-of-18 at the free-throw line, to the Golden Hurricane's mere 5-of-10, and they claimed a narrow 40-38 lead at halftime.

The Sooners improved to shoot 56.3 percent from the floor in the second half, and they again took advantage of free-throw opportunities, making 20-of-30. Their lead grew to as many as 18 points with just over five minutes left to play, and they refused to let their opponent back in the game.

Oklahoma out-rebounded Tulsa 43-32 and also produced a 34-19 scoring edge at the charity stripe.
