Recap: Oklahoma vs. Kansas State

Norman, OK (SportsNetwork.com) - Buddy Hield scored 18 points, leading four starters in double figures, as the Oklahoma Sooners topped the Kansas State Wildcats, 86-73, in Big 12 Conference play at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Isaiah Cousins chipped in with 17 points for the Sooners (20-7, 9-5 Big 12), followed by Cameron Clark and Jordan Woodward with 11 and 10 points, respectively, as the team posted a third win in four tries.

Kansas State (18-9, 8-6) was led by Marcus Foster who tallied a game-high 21 points, shooting 4-of-7 behind the 3-point line, while Nigel Johnson tacked on 11 points off the bench and Thomas Gipson 10 for the visitors as they bowed for the second time in the last three outings.

Oklahoma shot a modest 45.7 percent from the field in the first half, but the team connected on 16 field goals overall, six of those from 3-point range, as the Sooners moved out to a comfortable 41-22 advantage at the break.

After hitting on 39.1 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes of action, KSU jumped to 58.1 percent in the second half, including 7-of-13 on the perimeter, but at the same time the hosts were converting 60.0 percent from the floor and 17-of-21 at the free-throw line in order to stay in control of the outcome.

The Sooners finished the day with just eight turnovers and outscored Kansas State at the free-throw line, 20-9.
