Recap: Georgia vs. South Carolina
Athens, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Nemanja Djurisic finished with 22 points as the Georgia Bulldogs took down the South Carolina Gamecocks, 97-76, in an SEC matchup at Stegeman Coliseum.
For the Bulldogs (10-7, 4-1 SEC), Kenny Gaines added 14 points, Brandon Morris finished with 13 points, Marcus Thornton scored 12, Charles Mann chipped in with 10 and Donte Williams pulled down 10 rebounds.
Sindarius Thornwell lead all scorers with 26 points for the Gamecocks (7-11, 0-5), while Brenton Williams scored 18, Duane Notice finished with 14 and Jaylen Shaw ended up with 12 points.
Georgia shot 47.8 percent from the field in the first half, including 6-of-11 from 3-point range, as the Bulldogs took a 45-34 lead into the break. South Carolina made just 40 percent of its shots in the first, including 2-of-5 from 3-point range.
After intermission, the Gamecocks shot well, hitting on 52.2 percent from the field and knocking down 6-of-9 from deep. The Bulldogs stayed sharp in the second half, connecting on 61.5 percent of their field goal tries and 4-of-7 from 3-point range. Georgia used a 13-2 run early in the half to take complete control of the game, as it cruised to victory.
The Bulldogs outscored the Gamecocks in the paint, 32-22, Georgia also converted 13 offensive rebounds into 15 second chance points.Game Notes
