Recap: Arkansas vs. LSU

Fayetteville, AR (SportsNetwork.com) - Rashad Madden poured in a game-high 21 points, as the Arkansas Razorbacks made claim to a 81-70 victory over the LSU Tigers in SEC action at Bud Walton Arena.

Madden knocked down 12-of-14 from the free-throw line for Arkansas (16-9, 5-7 SEC), which has won three of four. Coty Clarke added 16 points and nine rebounds, Bobby Portis had 15 points and eight boards and Michael Qualls netted 13.

For LSU (15-9, 6-6), losers of three of their last four, Johnny O'Bryant III posted 20 points and 16 rebounds, Andre Stringer scored 13 and Jordan Mickey tallied eight points and 10 rebounds.

Arkansas went into the halftime locker room with a 37-33 lead after shooting 40.6 percent from the field in the first half, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range. LSU shot only 36.1 percent in the opening stanza and missed all but one of its seven tries from beyond the arc.

The Tigers battled back after intermission and held a three-point lead with 10:13 left following an O'Bryant III dunk, but the Razorbacks regained control thanks to a 12-2 run and never looked back from there.

The biggest disparity came from 3-point range, where Arkansas drained 10-of-17 compared to just 6-of-24 for LSU. The Razorbacks also outscored the Tigers at the free-throw line, 17-8.
