Recap: Texas Tech vs. LSU

Lubbock, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by Anthony Hickey's 16 points, the LSU Tigers escaped with a 71-69 victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in non- conference action at United Spirit Arena.

Hickey shot 6-of-8 from the field for LSU (7-2), including 4-of-4 from 3-point range. Johnny O'Bryant III scored 14 points, Shavon Coleman netted 13 off the bench and Andre Stringer added 12.

For Texas Tech (7-4), Jaye Crockett paced all scorers with 18 points. Robert Turner registered 14 points, while Dejan Kravic tallied eight points and 10 rebounds.

LSU outshot Texas Tech from the field in the first half, 55.2 percent to 36.4 percent, but it only led by five at intermission due to the Red Raiders' active and effective stanza at the free-throw line (20-of-25).

The game was briefly tied early in the second half before the Tigers pieced together a 7-0 burst to separate themselves. They led by nine with 3:28 left following an O'Bryant III layup, but those would be their final points of the game. Texas Tech made it a two-point contest with 1:42 remaining on a Turner dunk, but Turner missed two shots in the final minute as the Red Raiders' comeback attempt fell short.

LSU was nearly done in by a game-high 18 turnovers.
