Recap: Wright State vs. Santa Clara

Dayton, OH (Sports Network) - Kevin Foster erupted for 33 points as he helped lead the Santa Clara Broncos to an 81-69 win over the Wright State Raiders in the semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational at the Nutter Center.

Foster, who shot 6-of-12 behind the 3-point line, now has 414 triples in his career, moving him into the top-five in NCAA history. Also scoring in double figures for the Broncos (24-11) was Evan Roquemore with 16 points.

The Raiders (23-13) were paced by AJ Pacher with 17 points and eight rebounds, followed by Jerran Young and Miles Dixon with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Wright State shot 55.6 percent from the floor in the first half, scoring 20 of 36 points in the paint, as it claimed a narrow two-point advantage at the break. The Raiders were able to move out to the slim lead even though they shot just 1-of-6 behind the 3-point line in the period.

In the second half WSU again shot the ball well from the field at 52.4 percent, but Santa Clara was slightly better at 53.1 percent and also connected on 5-of-13 on the perimeter in order to pull off the win.

In a game that featured five ties and seven lead changes, the Raiders were limited to only four offensive rebounds and turned the ball over 15 times, compared to just six miscues for the Broncos.

With the victory the Broncos now begin a best-of-three-game championship series against George Mason which defeated Western Michigan on Wednesday night, 62-52.
