Recap: Lehigh vs. Fairfield

Bethlehem, PA (Sports Network) - C.J. McCollum poured in 35 points as the Lehigh Mountain Hawks flew by the Fairfield Stags 82-67 as part of the NIT Season Tip-Off consolation round at Stabler Arena.

McCollum hit on 12 -of-21 shots from the field including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc for Lehigh (2-2). Gabe Knutson added 17 points, Holden Greiner had 11 rebounds and Mackey McKnight handed out seven assists.

Keith Matthews had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Desmond Wade handed out 11 assists for Fairfield (2-2).

Lehigh led 40-30 at the end of the first half by shooting an impressive 52.2 percent from the floor including 7-of-11 from 3-point range. Fairfield was successful on 35.7 percent of its shots including just 1-of-9 from beyond the arc.

In the second half the Mountain Hawks cooled off to 46.4 percent shooting but rode a 13-5 edge from the free throw line to the 15-point decision.

Lehigh doubled up the Stags on points from behind the 3-point line (30-15).
