Recap: Pittsburgh vs. Lehigh

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Tray Woodall scored 23 points and Talib Zanna tied a career-high with 20 points as the Pittsburgh Panthers advanced to the semifinals of the NIT Season Tip-Off with a win over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks at Petersen Events Center, 78-53.

Woodall and Zanna combined to shoot 16-of-22 from the floor for the Panthers (3-0), who are looking to rebound from a disappointing 2011-12 campaign in which they missed the NCAA tournament. Durand Johnson came off the bench to score nine points and Dante Taylor ripped down 10 boards.

Lehigh (1-2) got 17 points from C.J. McCollum and 12 from fellow senior Gabe Knutson, but they combined for nine turnovers and the rest of the Mountain Hawks scored just 24 points on 6-of-23 from the field.

The score was tied late in the first half thanks to an 11-1 Lehigh run, but baskets by Taylor and Steven Adams allowed Pitt to take a five-point lead into halftime.

The Panthers lead ballooned 15 points early in the second half and the game was never in doubt from that point forward.

Pittsburgh's bench outscored Lehigh's, 24-11. The Panthers also held the advantage on the boards, 38-22.
