Macomb, IL (Sports Network) - Terrell Parks posted a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds as the Western Illinois Leathernecks took down the Nebraska Omaha Mavericks, 68-50, in a Summit League battle at Western Hall.

Adam Link also scored 12 points for the Leathernecks (18-5, 10-2 Summit), while Don McAvoy chipped in with 11 points. WIU has won four of five as it retains its first place position in the league standings.

For the Mavericks (8-18, 5-8), Justin Simmons and Tyler Egli each finished with 10 points.

The Leathernecks opened the game on a 20-0 run to take control early and went into halftime leading, 35-15. They connected on 59.9 percent of their field goal tries in the half and held the Mavericks to a lowly 21.9 percent shooting.

Omaha improved to 45.2 percent from the field in the second half, but it wasn't nearly enough to overcome its huge first-half hole.
