Recap: Portland vs. San Francisco

Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Cole Dickerson sank a 3-pointer in the closing seconds to lift the San Francisco Dons to a 75-72 decision in a West Coast Conference thriller at the Chiles Center.

Dickerson's game-winning triple gave him 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting for the Dons (9-11, 2-5 WCC) as they picked up their second straight win. De'End Parker tallied 16 points and Cody Doolin dealt out seven assists.

Ryan Nicholas paced Portland (8-13, 1-5) by pouring in 23 points. Kevin Bailey chipped in 15 points for the Pilots as they lost their third in a row.

Portland outscored the visitors, 16-8, in the paint and also, 6-2, in second chance points in the opening period to help build a 37-33 lead heading into the intermission. USF went into halftime trailing despite hitting 55 percent of its attempts from the field including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc.

The Pilots cooled off to make 45.5 percent of their field goal attempts in the second half and the Dons staged a rally by hitting 51.8 percent from the floor and all 10 of their attempts at the charity stripe. Bailey sank a jumper with 1:25 remaining to give Portland a 72-69 edge on the scoreboard, but Doolin tied it up with a triple on the Dons' ensuing possession. Oskars Reinfelds failed to connect on a go-ahead jumper for the Pilots and USF's Tim Derksen located the rebound to set the stage for Dickerson's late game heroics.

The Dons managed to come out on top despite being outrebounded, 28-17, in the contest.
