Malibu, CA (Sports Network) - Jordan Baker scored 16 points and assisted on the game-winning basket as the Pepperdine Waves came back to defeat the Loyola Marymount Lions, 52-50, in a West Coast Conference clash at Firestone Fieldhouse.

Baker shot 4-of-7 from the field and 8-of-10 from the foul line for Pepperdine (12-13, 4-8 WCC), which has won back-to-back games for the first time since early December. Lorne Jackson chipped in 11 points for the home team.

Anthony Ireland tallied 26 points for LMU (8-17, 1-11), but no one else scored more than eight points. The Lions, who shot just 33.3 percent from the field, have extended their season-long losing streak to nine games.

LMU shot only 30.8 percent from the floor in the first half, but it was able to take a 25-24 lead at intermission by draining 4-of-9 from 3-point range. Pepperdine shot just 1-of-6 from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes.

The Waves opened the second half on an 8-2 run to take control, and they led for most of the second half until the Lions used an 8-0 surge late in the game to take a 50-46 advantage with 3:31 to play. LMU would go scoreless the rest of the way however, and Pepperdine took the lead for good on a Nikolas Skouen jumper at the 1:42 mark.

Pepperdine outscored LMU at the foul line, 17-9.
