Recap: NC Central vs. South Dakota

Laramie, WY (Sports Network) - Tyler Flack scored 21 points and helped spark a second-half rally that carried South Dakota to an 81-69 win over North Carolina Central in the final game for both teams at the Global Sports Showcase.

Flack added a team-best eight rebounds and Juevol Myles finished with 13 points and six assists to help the Coyotes (1-2) notch their first victory after season-opening defeats to Southern and host Wyoming in the tournament. Karim Rowson and Casey Kasperbauer contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively, for South Dakota.

The Coyotes trailed 37-32 early in the second half before stringing together a 15-0 run to claim a 10-point lead. Myles buried a pair of 3-pointers during the surge, the last of which gave South Dakota a 44-37 advantage, and Kasperbauer capped it with a long-distance basket of his own to extend the margin to double digits with 15:29 left.

NC Central closed within 67-63 on Jay Copeland's 3-point play with 5:33 remaining, but the Coyotes countered with a 6-1 run and went up 73-64 on Rowson's steal and layup with 3:48 to go.

The Eagles (2-3) never got closer to seven points down the rest of the way and concluded the event with a 1-2 mark.

Copeland paced NC Central with 18 points, with Jeremy Ingram netting 17 off the bench in defeat.
