Recap: Penn vs. Princeton

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Ian Hummer scored 18 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Princeton Tigers closed out the regular season with a 71-58 win over the Penn Quakers in Ivy League action at The Palestra.

T.J. Bray added 13 points and six rebounds for the Tigers (17-11, 10-4 Ivy), followed by Mack Darrow and Will Barrett with 11 points apiece as they snapped a two-game slide.

The Quakers (9-22, 6-8) were paced by Tony Hicks who tallied a game-high 22 points, shooting 9-of-19 from the floor, but just 2-of-7 behind the 3-point line as the team suffered a second straight setback.

Penn led by as many as three points in the first half, shooting 50.0 percent from the floor in the period, but the squad was only 1-of-5 on the perimeter which allowed the visitors to knot the score at the break at 32-32.

In the second half the Tigers used 56.5 percent shooting from the field to pull away and establish the double-digit victory.

In a game that featured 10 ties and nine lead changes, the Quakers hurt themselves with just 3-of-14 shooting beyond the arc and a total of 17 turnovers.

With 22 defeats the Quakers tied the all-time school record for the most setbacks in the single campaign, matching the effort put forth by the 2009-10 squad which finished just 6-22 under the direction of Glen Miller and Jerome Allen, the latter being elevated to interim head coach after Miller was let go in the middle of December.
