Recap: Wright State vs. Loyola-Chicago

Dayton, OH (Sports Network) - A jumper by Cole Darling with 1:18 remaining proved to be the difference as the Wright State Raiders captured a 62-59 win over the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers in Horizon League action at the Nutter Center.

Darling, who scored a game-high 17 points, snapped what had been just the second tie of the game at 59-59 in order to bring home the win for the Raiders (15-8, 6-4 HL) as they snapped a three-game slide. Also scoring in double figures for the hosts was Jerran Young with 11 points, while Kendall Griffin responded with eight points and a game-high seven assists.

The Ramblers (13-10, 3-7) were paced by Christian Thomas with 13 points and eight rebounds, followed by Devon Turk and Cully Payne with 11 and 10 points, respectively, as they suffered their third loss in four games.

Loyola connected on an impressive 57.9 percent from the floor in the first half, including a perfect 4-of-4 behind the 3-point line, as the visitors registered a 34-22 advantage at the break.

But the roles reversed in the second half as WSU converted a sizzling 63.6 percent from the field, with Darling coming up with the shot that finally turned the tide for the Raiders.

The Ramblers finished the night shooting an even 50 percent from the floor and 18-of-22 at the free-throw line, but a total of 24 turnovers were too many to overcome.
