Youngstown, OH (Sports Network) - Kamren Belin poured in a game-high 24 points to lift the Youngstown State Penguins to a 73-59 decision over the Cleveland State Vikings in Horizon League action at the Beeghly Center.

Kendrick Perry converted 8-of-8 at the charity stripe on his way to 17 points for YSU (12-8, 4-3 HL) as it collected its third consecutive victory. Damian Eargle added 14 points and four blocks and D.J. Cole provided a spark off the bench with nine points and nine rebounds.

Bryn Forbes paced Cleveland State (10-12, 2-6) with 19 points and seven rebounds. Charlie Lee scored 12 points and Tim Kamczyc posted 10 points as the Vikings suffered their fourth loss in a row.

The Penguins came out of the game hot to knock down 48.3 percent of their field goal attempts including 6-of-14 from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes. Cleveland State knocked down only 4-of-11 from beyond the arc which led to a 42-27 halftime deficit for the visitors.

The Vikings played much better after the break and won the second half, 32-31, but YSU converted 13-of-16 at the free throw line over the final 20 minutes to deny Cleveland State a chance of coming back.

Although the Vikings held a slight, 38-35, edge in the rebounding battle, they were unable to overcome their 18 turnovers which YSU turned into 16 points.
