Recap: Cleveland State vs. Kent State

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Kris Brewer and Randal Holt each scored 17 points to lead the Kent State Golden Flashes to a 72-55 victory over the Cleveland State Vikings in a non-conference bout at the Wolstein Center.

Chris Evans added 11 points and nine rebounds for Kent State (9-5), which has won a season-high four straight games.

For Cleveland State (8-6), Bryn Forbes came off the bench to net 12 points, while Tim Kamczyc chipped in 10 points and three blocks.

The Golden Flashes shot a lofty 57.7 percent from the floor in the first half as they ran out to a 39-29 advantage at intermission.

Kent State's pace slowed after the break, as it shot just 36.4 percent from the floor in the second half, but it never relinquished its lead.

Cleveland State shot less than 40 percent from the field and a lowly 12-of-25 from the foul line (.480). It also committed a game-high 17 turnovers.
