Recap: Princeton vs. Northeastern

Princeton, NJ (Sports Network) - Reggie Spencer converted a layup with two seconds left to give the Northeastern Huskies a road win over the Princeton Tigers at Jadwin Gymnasium, 67-66.

Quincy Ford led the way with 27 points for Northeastern (2-0), connecting on five of his six three-point attempts. Spencer was the only other Huskie in double figures, finishing with 16 points. Northeastern shot 57.5 percent from the field in the game and hit 8-of-11 three-pointers.

Preseason Ivy League Player of the Year Ian Hummer scored 25 to pace the Tigers (1-1), but he did not score in the final 7:48 of the game. Clay Wilson added 12 points off the bench and Will Barrett tallied 11 points.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 21-10 lead thanks to Hummer, who scored 15 of those 21 points. They shot 58.6 percent in the first half and led 44-32 at the break.

The lead grew to as many as 18 before Northeastern began to chip away. Down just six with two minutes to play, Ford hit a triple to cut the lead in half. After a Hummer turnover, Ford was fouled and made both free throws. Princeton held a one-point lead until Spencer's last-second heroics.

Princeton was scoreless in the final 3:10 of the game.
