Recap: Georgia State vs. Old Dominion

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - R.J. Hunter made 10 3-pointers on 15 attempts to set a new school and conference record and tally 38 points for the Georgia State Panthers who handled the Old Dominion Monarchs, 83-63, in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at the GSU Sports Arena.

Hunter was automatic from long-range but also recorded two blocks and two steals for the Panthers (12-12, 7-4 CAA), who earned their second win in a row and fifth in the last six games. Manny Atkins just missed a a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds while Devonta White managed 10 points and eight assists. Rashaad Richardson struggled from the field, shooting 3-of-11 for eight points but got five steals on the defensive end of the ball.

DeShawn Painter put together a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Monarchs (2-19, 0-9), who lost their ninth consecutive game and remain winless in conference action. Richard Ross also scored 15 points while pulling down nine rebounds and Nick Wright added 13 points.

After Old Dominion shot just 34.4 percent from the field and went 2-of-11 from beyond the arc, the Panthers took a 33-28 lead into the break.

The second half was all Georgia State. The Panthers were 9-of-15 from deep and shot 64.3 percent from the field.

ODU shot only 32.3 percent from the floor while making just 4-of-21 attempts from 3-point range. The Panthers were 53.8 percent from the field and shot nearly 50.0 percent from 3-point range, knocking down 16 3-pointers.
