Recap: Montana State vs. Weber State

Bozeman, MT (Sports Network) - Xavier Blount and Antonio Biglow each finished with 18 points to lead the Montana State Bobcats to a 79-74 victory over the Weber State Wildcats, in a Big Sky Conference tilt at Worthington Arena.

For the Bobcats (8-9, 5-4 Big Sky), Christian Moon added 16 points and Paul Egwuonwu posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Wildcats (13-4, 8-1) were led by a game-high 24 points from Davion Berry, while Scott Bamforth finished with 14 points and Kyle Tresnak chipped in with 13 points.

Both teams shot well to start the contest. Weber State connected on 53.8 percent of their field goal tries, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range, to take a 40-37 lead into intermission. MSU made 51.9 percent of their shots from the field and 4-of-6 from beyond the 3-point arc in the first period.

After halftime, the Wildcats hit on 45 percent from the field and 6-of-11 from 3-point distance. The Bobcats shot only 37.9 from the floor in the second half, but had a 19-10 scoring advantage from the free throw line and attempted nine more shots than the Wildcats. Trailing by one, 45-44, just over four minutes into the second stanza, MSU ran off six-straight points to take a five-point lead, and they would never trail again, as the handed Weber State their first conference loss of the season.

The Bobcats outscored the Wildcats, 19-4, on points off of turnovers and 15-9 in second chance points. The Bobcats had a slight edge on the boards, 33-30.
