Recap: UCLA vs. Fresno State
Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Shabazz Muhammad scored a career-high 27 points as the UCLA Bruins held off the Fresno State Bulldogs, 91-78, in non- conference action at Pauley Pavilion.
Muhammad wasn't the only one who put up a big night for the Bruins (9-3). Jordan Adams had 25 points on 10-of-14 from the field and Kyle Anderson posted a career-night with 20 points, 17 rebounds, and seven assists, giving UCLA three freshman with 20 or more points in the same game for the first time in program history. Larry Drew II scored just four points but he dished out 10 assists for UCLA, which has won four in a row.
For Fresno State (5-7), Marvelle Harris led the way with 19 points off the bench, while Tyler Johnson and Kevin Olekaibe scored 16 and 10, respectively.
The Bulldogs led by as many as nine in the first half, but UCLA fought back to take a 39-36 advantage at intermission. The Bruins made good on 58.6 percent of their field goal attempts, but they went without a 3-pointer. Fresno State kept the game close by shooting 5-of-9 from beyond the arc.
UCLA continued its hot shooting from the floor after the break (.576) as it led by as many as 18 down the stretch.
