Recap: UAB vs. South Alabama

Birmingham, AL (Sports Network) - Jordan Swing paced five Blazers in double figures with 18 points as UAB rolled over the South Alabama Jaguars, 92-78, in non-conference action at Bartow Arena.

Fahro Alihodzic shot 8-of-12 from the field en route to 17 points for UAB (5-5), which had lost its previous two matchups. Preston Purifoy scored 14 points, Robert Williams tallied 13 points and eight rebounds, and Isiah Jones logged 12 points and eight assists.

For South Alabama (4-5), Augustine Rubit led all scorers with 24 points and hauled in 11 rebounds. Xavier Roberson had 18 points, and Freddie Goldstein chipped in 13 for the Jaguars, who have lost back-to-back games.

UAB got out to a comfortable 46-27 lead at intermission behind 51.3 percent field goal shooting. South Alabama made just 10-of-33 (.303) from the floor in the opening half.

The Blazers led by as many as 28 in the second half. The Jaguars went on a run late in the game to get closer, but they never got to within single-digits of the lead after halftime.

South Alabama committed 20 turnovers and connected on just 7-of-27 from three- point range.
