Recap: Georgia vs. LSU

Athens, GA (Sports Network) - Kentavious Caldwell-Pope finished with 22 points, six steals, and five assists to lift the Georgia Bulldogs to a 67-58 victory over the LSU Tigers in a Southeastern Conference matchup at Stegeman Coliseum.

Donte' Williams chipped in 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting for Georgia (7-10, 1-3 SEC) as it snapped a three-game losing streak. Nemanja Djurisic came off the bench to pull down eight rebounds for the Bulldogs.

Johnny O'Bryant III registered a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Tigers (9-6, 0-4), who dropped their fourth consecutive decision. Anthony Hickey tallied 12 points and five steals, while Malik Morgan produced 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field.

Neither side could gain much of an advantage in the opening half, but the Bulldogs outscored LSU, 20-12, in the paint to take a narrow 33-29 lead into the intermission.

The contest remained close in the second stanza and LSU's Andre Stringer tied the score up at 54 with 4:41 left in regulation by making the back end of a trip to the charity stripe. Georgia took over from there as it produced an 11-2 run down the stretch to go up by nine and notch its first SEC win of the season.

The Tigers lost despite owning a 38-29 edge in the rebounding battle due to their 36 percent shooting from the floor. Georgia knocked down 46.8 percent of its field goal tries in the contest.
