Recap: Kentucky vs. Auburn

Lexington, KY (Sports Network) - Nerlens Noel registered a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds as the Kentucky Wildcats delivered a 72-62 win over the Auburn Tigers in SEC action at Rupp Arena.

Noel, who took only two shots from the floor on the day, also recorded just a single blocked shot for the Wildcats (17-6, 8-2 SEC) as they won their fifth straight game and the seventh in the last eight outings overall.

Kyle Wiltjer came off the bench to record a team-best 14 points for the Wildcats, followed by Ryan Harrow and Willie Cauley-Stein with 12 points apiece and Julius Mays 10 in the triumph.

The Tigers (9-14, 3-7), losers of seven of the last eight contests, were paced by Chris Denson with 15 points, Noel Johnson 12 and Shaquille Johnson 10 points all off the bench as the starting five for the program combined to score only 18 points.

It took some time for Kentucky to warm up, but the team eventually led by six points at the break, 37-31, even as the hosts shot only 4-of-14 behind the 3- point line in the first half.

In the second half the Wildcats again struggled on the perimeter, 2-of-7, but feasted at the free-throw line (17-of-24) in order to captured the double- digit win.

Auburn was outscored at the charity stripe, 26-11, on the afternoon.
