Recap: Purdue vs. Xavier

West Lafayette, IN (Sports Network) - Semaj Christon led the way with 25 points as the Xavier Musketeers took down the Purdue Boilermakers, 63-57, in a non- conference battle at Mackey Arena.

For the Musketeers (6-1), Justin Martin added 12 points.

Terone Johnson posted a double-double for the Boilermakers (3-4) with 19 points and 10 rebounds and Ronnie Johnson chipped in with 12 points.

Purdue shot 39.3 percent from the field to open the contest, including an 0- of-10 effort from beyond the 3-point arc, but the Boilermakers were able to take a 29-26 advantage into the break. Xavier shot 40 percent from the field in the first half.

After halftime, Purdue had trouble shooting the ball, making just 31.3 percent of its field goal attempts and again unable able connect from long range, this time missing all seven of its 3-point attempts. Xavier shot 46.4 percent in the second half. An 8-0 run midway through the half allowed the Musketeers to turn a two-point deficit into a six-point lead, and they held on for the road victory.

Purdue finished the game 0-of-17 from three-point range. The Boilermakers outrebounded the Musketeers 44-29.
