Recap: St Bonaventure vs. Saint Louis

St. Bonaventure, NY (Sports Network) - Dwayne Evans led the way with 18 points and eight rebounds as the Saint Louis Billikens downed the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, 67-57, in an Atlantic 10 Conference matchup at the Reilly Center.

Cody Ellis chipped in 10 points and swiped four steals for the Billikens (14-5, 3-2 A-10) as they notched their second victory in a row. No other SLU player reached double-figures, but Grandy Glaze, Mike McCall, Jr., and Jordair Jett tallied nine points apiece.

For the Bonnies (9-10, 2-4), Demitrius Conger scored 15 points and came up one rebound shy of a double-double. Chris Johnson and Charlon Kloof contributed 11 points each, but SBU still had its brief two-game winning streak concluded.

The Billikens took a 38-23 lead into the intermission after a dominant performance in the opening half during which they shot 46.9 percent from the field while limiting SBU to 31.8 percent shooting including an 0-of-7 mark from beyond the arc. SLU extended its lead to as many as 17 before the break.

Both teams made 40 percent of their field goal attempts in the second half. The Bonnies narrowed the deficit by five points, but the first half deficit was too great to overcome.

The Billikens converted the hosts' 19 turnovers into 27 points and outscored SBU, 38-24, in the paint en route to the win.
