Recap: Wake Forest vs. Furman

Winston-Salem, NC (Sports Network) - C.J. Harris scored 20 points and handed out five assists to lead the Wake Forest Demon Deacons to a 79-55 victory over the Furman Paladins in a non-conference tilt at Joel Coliseum.

Travis McKie added 16 points and six rebounds and Tyler Cavanaugh chipped in 12 points off the bench for Wake Forest (5-5). The Demon Deacons have won two of their last three games.

Stephen Croone and Colin Reddick each scored 12 points to pace Furman (3-7). The Paladins lost for the fifth time in six games.

Wake Forest led 37-30 at half time after shooting 48.1 percent from the field including a 5-of-8 effort from 3-point range. Furman shot at just a 34.6 percent clip but stayed within striking distance by hitting 5-of-13 shots from beyond the arc.

In the second half the Demon Deacons pulled away on the back of a 60.0 percent shooting effort. The Paladins hit just 38.5 percent of their second half field goal attempts and were outscored 12-3 from the free throw line.

Wake Forest dominated inside outscoring Furman 46-12 on points in the paint.
