Recap: La Salle vs. Richmond
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Head coach Chris Mooney recorded his first career loss at Richmond in an Atlantic 10 road opener as the La Salle Explorers defeated the Spiders, 71-59, at Tom Gola Arena.
Tyrone Garland recorded a game-high 17 points off the bench for the Explorers (11-4, 1-1 A-10). Tyreek Duren recorded 15 points, seven boards, seven assists and four steals, Jerrell Wright chipped in 12 points while Steve Zack added 11 point off the bench as La Salle won for the second time in the last three games.
For the Spiders (11-6, 1-1), Kendall Anthony recorded a team-high 13 points. Cedrick Lindsay and Greg Robbins added 12 and 10 points, respectively, as Richmond had a two-game winning streak snapped.
La Salle was 15-of-37 from the floor, while holding the Spiders to 11-of-26 made field goals in the first half, en route to a 33-30 advantage at the break.
The Explorers shot 56.5 percent from the floor and held the visitors without a single 3-point conversion on nine attempts after intermission.
La Salle, which shot just 3-of-15 behind the 3-point line on the day, dominated the points in the paint, 48-24, and bench points, 29-11.Game Notes
