Recap: Charlotte vs. Ga Southern

Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Chris Braswell's double-double led the Charlotte 49ers to a 66-53 win over the Georgia Southern Eagles at Halton Arena.

Braswell scored 21 points on 7-of-12 from the floor and gathered 12 boards to pace the 49ers (2-0). Henry Pierria added 13 points, going 9-of-10 from the foul line, while Willie Clayton tallied eight points and nine rebounds.

Eric Ferguson and Cleon Roberts each scored 11 to lead the Eagles (0-2), while Tre Bussey chipped in 10. Ferguson also had 10 rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Eagles came out in attack mode and led by five points towards the end of the first half, but Charlotte battled back to take the lead, 37-34, heading into intermission.

The 49ers never surrendered their advantage after halftime and lead by as many as 18.

Charlotte won despite turning the ball over 19 times compared to just nine assists.
