Recap: Saint Josephs vs. Harvard

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Carl Jones erupted for 24 points in just 23 minutes off the bench as he guided the Saint Joseph's Hawks to a 75-56 win over the Harvard Crimson in non-conference action at Hagan Arena.

Jones made good on 8-of-11 shots from the floor, including 4-of-6 behind the three-point line, adding five assists and four rebounds in the win for the Hawks (3-1). C.J. Aiken chipped in with 13 points and Halil Kanacevic generated nine points, seven boards and seven assists.

The Crimson (2-2) was paced by Wesley Saunders and his 18 points, to go along with a team-best nine rebounds. Laurent Rivard knocked down 4-of-8 shots beyond the arc in order to come up with 15 points.

The Hawks converted a healthy 53.1 percent from the floor in the first half, including 5-of-10 behind the three-point line, while Harvard missed on all seven of its opportunities on the perimeter, en route to a 41-23 score at the break.

In the second half the hosts dipped to 37.1 percent shooting from the field and knocked down only 3-of-8 at the free-throw line in the period, yet the squad still held a comfortable lead to the end.

In addition to making just 38 percent from the floor on the night, Harvard also suffered with 18 turnovers.
