Recap: Oregon vs. L-S-U

Eugene, OR (Sports Network) - Devoe Joseph finished with 25 points and six assists as the Oregon Ducks flew past the LSU Tigers to pick up a 96-76 victory in a National Invitational Tournament first round matchup at Matthew Knight Arena.

Garrett Sim scored 15 points for Oregon (23-9), while Tony Woods had 14 points. E.J. Singler and Carlos Emory added 11 points apiece to help the Ducks advance to the second round, where they will take on Iowa.

Justin Hamilton led LSU (18-15) with 21 points and nine rebounds. Ralston Turner had 14 points, Johnny O'Bryant chipped in 12 points, and Andre Stringer contributed 10 points with six assists.

LSU held a five point lead after the first few minutes of play, but Oregon stormed back and took a 50-33 lead into the intermission. The Ducks shot 54.8 percent from the floor and knocked down 5-of-10 from three-point range in the opening half to build their lead. The Tigers managed to make only 37.9 percent of their field goal tries in the first frame.

Oregon kept the pressure on after the break by connecting on 60.7 percent of its field goal attempts in the final 20 minutes. LSU shot 50 percent from the field in the second half.

The Ducks scored 22 points off of LSU's 17 turnovers. The Tigers held a 33-28 advantage in the rebounding battle.
