Recap: Pittsburgh vs. Princeton

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Tray Woodall finished with 15 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds as the Pittsburgh Panthers defeated the Princeton Tigers, 82-61, in the quarterfinal round of the College Basketball Invitational at the Petersen Events Center.

Lamar Patterson netted a team-high 19 points for Pitt (19-16), while Nasir Robinson recorded a double-double of 12 points and 10 boards. Ashton Gibbs added 10 points as the Panthers advanced to the semifinal round, where they will take on Butler.

Douglas Davis led the way for Princeton (20-12) with a game-high 20 points. Ian Hummer contributed 14 points, nine rebounds, and six assists for the Tigers.

Pitt took a 49-25 lead into halftime after it knocked down 8-of-14 from beyond the arc in the opening period. The Tigers made only 37.5 percent of their field goal attempts in the first half.

Princeton outscored the Panthers by three points after the break, but Pitt made 48.3 percent of its field goal attempts in the final 20 minutes to preserve its first half lead.

The Panthers held a 39-26 lead in the rebounding battle.
