Recap: Indiana vs. Penn State

Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Jordan Hulls scored 20 points while Cody Zeller added 19 points and 10 rebounds as No. 15 Indiana downed Penn State, 75-58, in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.

Christian Watford finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Victor Oladipo also pulled down 10 boards for fifth-seeded Indiana (25-7), which snapped a six-game losing streak in the tourney.

The Hoosiers will play fourth-seeded Wisconsin in the quarterfinals on Friday. Coincidentally, Indiana's last win in Big Ten Tournament play came against the Badgers on March 10, 2006.

Tim Frazier scored a game-high 26 points to go with five steals and four assists for Penn State (12-20).

The Hoosiers, who led by six at halftime, stretched the advantage to 20 as they opened the second stanza on a 16-2 run.

Hulls, Will Sheehey and Derek Elston all hit three-pointers during the surge and Indiana led, 54-34, with 12:24 remaining in the contest.

Indiana led by as many as 22 points down the stretch, cruising to the easy win.

The Nittany Lions shot just 28.6 percent in the second half.

Penn State hung around for the first 13 minutes of the contest and trailed by just one, 22-21, until a 12-3 Hoosiers push gave them a 34-24 advantage with 3:18 to go in the opening half.

Indiana took a 38-32 lead into the locker room.

On a sour note for the Hoosiers, Verdell Jones III exited the game late in the first half with an apparent right knee injury. While in transition, Jones stopped at the foul line and went down to the floor. He immediately clutched his right knee in obvious pain and did not return to the contest.

"He's being evaluated now, and we've got a great team of doctors that were with him, obviously, right away...It's in God's hands. And we're going to just absolutely hope for the best with him," Indiana head coach Tom Crean said.

Game Notes

Indiana swept the season series against Penn State...Trey Lewis was the only other double-digit scorer for the Nittany Lions with 11 points...Indiana shot just 36.5 percent, but was 8-of-18 from beyond the arc.
