Recap: St Bonaventure vs. Massachusetts

Atlantic City, NJ (Sports Network) - Demitrius Conger had 22 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists as St. Bonaventure survived to take an 84-80 win over Massachusetts in a semifinal of the A-10 Tournament.

Andrew Nicholson posted 19 points and six rebounds for the Bonnies (19-11), who knocked off Saint Joseph's on Friday and will appear in just their third A-10 final.

St. Bonaventure will play Xavier, which took a 71-64 win over Saint Louis, in the final on Sunday.

Terrell Vinson had 20 points, Maxie Esho added 16 points and eight boards while Jesse Morgan donated 13 points for the Minutemen (22-11), who defeated No. 21 Temple on Friday to advance to the semis.

Nicholson's three-ball with 7 1/2 minutes to play gave the Bonnies their largest lead of the game at 70-54, but the Minutemen came storming back.

A 9-2 run got the game back to within single digits and seven straight points, capped on a Raphiael Putney steal and layup made it a 77-75 game with 1:38 to play.

Conger made a pair of trips to the foul line around Vinson's missed three- pointer. He went 3-of-4 from the charity stripe to give the Bonnies a five- point lead with 1:06 left.

Putney countered with a layup with Charlon Kloof hit a free throw with 42.3 seconds left. Sean Carter then made one freebie and Chaz Williams stole the ball off of Kloof, missing his layup but hitting both free throws with 18.3 to play to make it a one-point game.

Kloof responded with another free throw for a two-point lead, but Putney missed a long three-point attempt and Matthew Wright came down with the rebound. He then hit both of his free throws with 1.8 to play to cap the win.

The game was close for much of the first half, but a late spurt capped on a three-point play from Conger helped St. Bonaventure take a 48-41 lead into the second half.
