Recap: Denver vs. ULM
Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Brian Stafford delivered a game-high 25 points and handed out five assists as the Denver Pioneers logged a 76-57 win over the Warhawks of ULM in a Sun Belt Conference tilt at Magness Arena.
Stafford knocked down 8-of-11 shots from the floor on the night, including 6- of-9 behind the three-point line, while Brett Olson connected on 5-of-9 on the perimeter as he chipped in 15 points for the Pioneers (20-8, 10-5 Sun Belt) in their third straight win.
The Warhawks (2-25, 1-13) were paced by Fred Brown with 15 points, Charles Winborne 14 and Marcelis Hansberry 12 points off the bench as they bowed in their 10th straight outing.
ULM grabbed an early lead in the first half and ended up converting not just 50 percent from the field in the period but also 4-of-5 beyond the arc, and still the Warhawks trailed by eight at the break, 37-29.
In the second half Denver stepped up with a sizzling 65.2 percent from the field and 8-of-16 behind the three-point line, allowing the hosts to cruise to the 19-point win.
Of their 47 field goal attempts, the Pioneers lined up a staggering 34 from the perimeter, connecting on 16 of those opportunities.Game Notes
