Recap: Cornell vs. Dartmouth

Ithaca, NY (Sports Network) - Johnathan Gray scored a game-high 20 points as the Cornell Big Red defeated the Dartmouth Big Green, 70-57, in an Ivy League bout at Newman Arena.

Drew Ferry added 16 points for Cornell (12-15, 7-6 Ivy), while Chris Wroblewski chipped in 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Jvonte Brooks paced Dartmouth (5-24, 1-12) with 15 points and nine rebounds. Gabas Maldunas contributed 11 points and seven rebounds as the Big Green lost for the 12th time in a row.

The Big Red took a 28-24 lead into halftime after they knocked down 40.7 percent of its field goals in the opening period. Dartmouth fell behind after it shot just 26.1 percent from the floor, but it managed to stay close by hitting 11-of-17 from the charity stripe in the first half.

Cornell extended its lead after the break by connecting on 6-of-10 from three- point range and by making 14-of-15 from the free throw line in the final 20 minutes. The Big Green trailed by 22 points but ended the game on a 9-0 run to narrow the final margin.

The Big Red pushed past their conference rival by draining 11-of-23 from beyond the arc in the contest. Dartmouth could not keep up as it made just 3- of-15 from long range.
