Recap: Tenn-Martin vs. Austin Peay

Martin, TN (Sports Network) - Herdie Lawrence scored 19 points to pace five players in double figures for the Austin Peay Governors who routed the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks 85-67 in an Ohio Valley Conference game at Skyhawk Arena.

John Fraley finished with 16, Josh Terry put in 15, Justin Blake added 11 and Chris Freeman chipped in 10 points to round out the double figure scorers for Austin Peay (11-19, 7-8 OVC) which has won consecutive games for the first time in a month.

Mike Liabo poured in a game-high 27 points for Tennessee-Martin (4-26, 0-15) which also got 16 from Dane Smith and 12 from Corderio Maclin. The Skyhawks remain winless in conference action and have lost 16 of their last 17.

Austin Peay broke out to a 43-30 lead at the break by shooting 57.7 percent from the floor in the first twenty minutes while holding Tennessee-Martin to just 39.3 percent.

The Skyhawks improved to 50.0 percent but it wasn't enough as the Governors converted on 53.6 percent of its shots from the floor and also outrebounded Tennessee-Martin 20-10 in the second frame.

Austin Peay scored 14 second chance points off of 23 offensive rebounds in the game.
