Recap: Green Bay vs. Cleveland State

Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Kam Cerroni scored 17 points as the Green Bay Phoenix downed the Cleveland State Vikings 71-67 in a Horizon League scrap at the Resch Center.

Keifer Sykes added 13 points and Brennan Cougill chipped in 10 for Green Bay (13-14, 8-8 Horizon) which has won three straight and six of its last eight.

Cleveland State (20-9, 10-7) was paced by Anton Grady who scored 23 points and pulled in eight rebounds. Tim Kamczyc added 14 points and Trevon Harmon finished with 13 for the Vikings who have stumbled of late with losses in five straight games.

Cleveland State shot 48.5 percent from the floor in the first half while Green Bay converted 46.7 percent. Phoenix had slim advantages from three point range (12-9) and the free throw line (4-1) which accounted for the 36-36 score going into intermission.

The second half had 13 lead changes and four ties with Green Bay taking the lead for good with 3:38 remaining on a Sykes layup that made the score 63-62. Cleveland State went 0-for-3 in the final minute and Cerroni iced the game with two free throws with eight seconds remaining.

The Vikings lost despite a 38-34 advantage on the boards and a 34-28 edge on points in the paint.
