Recap: Eastern Wash vs. Northern Colorado
Cheney, WA (Sports Network) - A Kelly Parker three-pointer with 14 second left proved to be the difference as the Eastern Washington Eagles pulled off a second half comeback to defeat the Northern Colorado Bears 79-76 in a Big Sky Conference bout at Reese Court.
Cliff Colimon led all scorers with 22 points for Eastern Washington (12-14, 6-7 Big Sky) and fell a rebound and an assist short of a triple-double. Collin Chiverton scored 19 points and Laron Griffin added 10 points for the Eagles, who snap a two-game losing streak.
For Northern Colorado (8-17, 5-8), Connor Osborne scored 17 points, Tate Unruh added 16 points, and Paul Garnica chipped in 14 points. The Bears have now lost four of their last five games.
Northern Colorado shot 45.7 percent from the floor and 7-of-11 from the three- point line to take a comfortable 43-29 lead heading into halftime.
Eastern Washington still found itself down 16 with 11:25 remaining in the second half but went on a 28-10 run to take a 74-72 lead with 1:50 left on a Parker three-pointer. After Northern Colorado retook the lead on a pair of Mike Proctor free-throws with 25 seconds to go, Parker answered again with a three-pointer to give the Eagles the lead for good.
Eastern Washington connected on 11-of-27 of its three-pointers while Northern Colorado made good on 10-of-16 of its shots from beyond the arc.Game Notes
