LITTLE ROCK, AR - Police say a man has died after being shot inside his car while reportedly trying to buy pills.
According to the police report, Jaxson Guinn, 19, of Morrilton, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest Thursday afternoon at 27th & Battery streets.
Guinn managed to drive to Roosevelt & Schiller where police found him and paramedics loaded him into an ambulance. He died this morning.
Police say a man in the car with him when the shooting happened told officers the suspect was named Edwin, and that he knew Guinn. He told police that he and Guinn had gone to 27th & Battery to buy some pills.
An emergency worker at the scene told police he saw Guinn's friend drop something over a fence near Guinn's vehicle. Officers searched bushes in the area and found a pill bottle. They also found a baggie with a white powdery substance inside the vehicle. It was turned over to narcotics officers for analysis.
Guinn's friend told police that he got scared, took pills from Guinn and tossed them over the fence "to try and help his friend out."
Police say detectives have identified a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest. His name and photo will be released later today.
