BLANCHESTER, Ohio (AP) — The father of an eight-year-old Ohio boy, who skipped church and was found alone at a nearby store, is scheduled to appear in court next week on a child endangering charge.

Blanchester police said in a statement that the boy apparently walked on a busy highway to the Family Dollar Store — about a half-mile from his home — on April 30.

Reinbolt said 31-year-old Jeffrey Williamson told police his son went missing around 5:30 p.m. that night, but he assumed the child got on an evening church bus with four siblings. Reinbolt said Williamson told police he didn't watch them board the bus.

Williamson is scheduled in Clinton County Municipal Court on July 10. There was no phone listed for Williamson and court records do not show an attorney.
