New laws go into effect Tuesday in Kentucky -- affecting everything from underground utility work to sex offenders.Starting July 15th, a company will be fined if its crew accidentally hits a utility line underground, causing a power outage. In the past, state government paid the tab. Longer prison terms are on the way for people in positions of authority who sexually abuse a minor. Teachers, coaches, and priests are among those affected. Landlords have to tell potential buyers or tenants if property has been tained by meth, without being cleaned up by a certified contractors. All of these new laws were passed during the recent General Assembly session. |

Add some social workers and cops into that and it will make me happy even though I don't think these kinds of laws really work to change things in such a way that it really isn't ever happening ever again! That should be the goal, but I think these laws can be abused/misused just like anything. I also think the victims are often being more victimized by these laws in many different ways? I just think that sometimes we could do some things differently and get a lot different and better results as the outcome, and isn't that what we are really suppose to be after? That would be my hope in all of this abuse stuff any way is to STOP it, and get people the real help they might need, to give everyone or anyone that could use a little support in doing things differently or dealing with their own abuse the support they need.
