A Central Kentucky town already hit by job losses is about to lose some more.

Thursday, the Red Wing Shoe Company announced its Danville plant would close by next June. A spokesman says the first firings will come at the end of February. Some employees will have an opportunity to transfer to the company's Missouri plant. State and local agencies will help the workers find jobs.

Other Danville businesses, including Goody's, Dawahares and Rite-Aid, have all closed recently. K-Mart is in the process of closing.
