is behind an anonymous attack video. The two-minute video was posted on "YouTube" October 7. The Conway campaign has called the allegation "just silliness." Mongiardo campaign spokesman Kim Gevedon said today that the Conway campaign has either a "direct or indirect" role in the cyber space attack. "Attorney General Jack Conway's campaign is neck deep in political dirty tricks," claimed Gevedon. Gevedon says three clips of video taken of Mongiardo at Fancy Farm in August by a Conway staffer, known as a "campaign tracker", were used in the internet attack video. "He and his campaign have a lot of serious questions to answer," said Gevedon. "Who is involved, where does it lead?" Conway's campaign manager dismissed the claims. "Mongiardo is obviously trying to shift the blame away from his ugly comments about the governor, for which he still hasn't apologized," said Charles Halloran of the Conway camp. In late September another anonymous internet posting, this one audio only, exposed a salty tirade against Governor Steve Beshear by Mongiardo. The Mongiardo camp has called the audio "heavily edited" but has not disputed that the voice on the tape was that of the Lt. Governor. In an interview two weeks ago Conway told ABC 36 News that his campaign had nothing to do with the audio posting. "My working assumption is you're taped everywhere you go, so, but no my campaign had nothing to do with that," Conway claimed. "I can't imagine anyone from my campaign would have gotten into a position that close to Doctor Mongiardo." Gevedon said today he had "no reason to dispute that." Trackback ( 0 )
